What have I been up to...?

It has been a while since I blogged, so I thought I would catch you all up on what I have been up to in the past year or so. 2017 was a bit of a rollercoaster for me. January was greeted with sadness when my beloved Nana passed away. The same day as her memorial service I found out I was excepted to Biola University! The next few weeks were a whirlwind as I prepared to spend February through April in South Africa with a missionary family. You can read all about my trip in other blog posts. In June, I graduated High School and began my journey toward college. My senior summer was bitter sweet. I greatly enjoyed my first ever summer camp at Hume Lake, Hawaii with Mom, and countless activities with my beloved youth group. It has been a learning experience trying to figure how to continue high school friendships with out actually being in high school any more.

At the end of August I started at Biola as a pre-nursing student. With two science classes, 3 GenEd classes, and Speechless (my church's drama program) my first semester was pretty full. I quickly realized I couldn't do it all. Even with living in the dorm surrounded by people, I felt completely alone. I am not supper out going when it comes to making friends, but I pushed myself and  tried to meet people and get to know them, but it just felt like I didn't have any friends on campus. I started looking into changing my major and have decided to take a semester off, because let's be real I wasn't about to decide my whole career path in just 3 short weeks of break.

At the beginning of 2018, I had no idea what I was going to do. I had no job and no school plans. I applied to the Master's University online program, and have enjoyed working on some bible classes the past few months. I still don't really know what I want to do with the rest of my life. For now I take each day as it comes, taking every opportunity to bring Jesus more glory.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10
