Weeks 5 and 6 (3/6/17-3/19/17)
Week 5
Autumn is almost upon us, bringing its cold nights and warm afternoons.
Some highlights from this week:
Starbucks
I finally got to experience Starbucks: South Africa edition. This month they are introducing a new Frappuccino flavor each week. I got a cupcake Frappuccino. Although it didn't really have any coffee, it was still delicious!
Young Adults
Once a month, the young adults come together for a time of fellowship, worship, and teaching. The theme of this month's meeting was a bake-off as well as a team competition. We also participated in a tea drinking, watermelon eating, and melktart eating competitions. I baked Lemon Bars and came away with the Judges Choice Award. It was an enjoyable night filled with yummy treats!
Irene Farm.
Saturday morning, Uncle Randy, Marissa, Gabriel, and I dropped Vanessa and Chisomo off at the airport before heading to a dairy farm. Before buying fresh raw milk, we walked around and saw some of the calves!
Family Night
As you might have noticed, most events I have talked about revolve around food. On Saturday evening we had 17 people over enjoy a delicious Braai (barbeque). We had great fun laughing and playing games together.
I have some very exciting news! My parents are coming!! They arrive April 19, and then we will all go home together.
Week 6
Six weeks down, six to go! All of this week's event revolve around one special person: Julia.
On Monday, Julia, Marissa, Auntie Susan, and I went to the mall to shop at H&M as part of Julia's birthday on Tuesday. We then went to dinner at this fabulous burger place, RocoMamas.
Tuesday was pretty chilled. We ate dinner, and had brownies and ice cream for dessert, then watched a movie.
Saturday: Julia, Marissa, Julia's friend Hope, and I met Cambria and Caitlyn Mack at Starbucks! It we had a great time laughing and talking. In the evening we had another Braai/Movie Night. Maybe it will become a tradition now. ;)
