Christmas Music, When is to Soon?

Image
Happy November!!    It seams that as soon as Halloween is over, out comes the Christmas decorations! What ever happened to Thanksgiving?     In my family the day after Thanksgiving my dad would go up to the attic and bring down the Christmas tree and pull out all of our wounderful Christmas CDs. Pandora and Spotify have brought music to our fingertips. We no longer need to make that trek to the attic. All year long you could listen to Christmas music! In my opinion if its bring glory and honor to our savior, why not sing of his birth all year round! Here are some Christmas CDs that I love and feel bring praise to our savior!  https://open.spotify.com/user/125116320/playlist/3xFgG2qTJTqfkLL38caYHS https://open.spotify.com/album/1a2gUlUBypmai0CzuIVXQo https://open.spotify.com/album/6zsXpKxvpjmwXvoxPdN2eQ https://open.spotify.com/album/1pNwYbeB1bqTBoEtrPJsSb

World Traveler pt1

On June 8, 2016 I and 9 others from grace church of orange made the exhausting 24 hour plane trip to Pretoria, South Africa. This was the third opportunity I had to minister to the Clark, Mack, and De Witt families. They tirelessly work to reach the people in their community with the gospel.  Josh and Marda Mack planted Living Hope Church and started Muphamuzi baby home. The baby home is a place for abandoned babies to find a forever family, weather that be going back to their birth family or being adopted. Andre and Karlien De Witt are native South Africans. Andre helps with the administrative work that comes with running a non profit organization. Because Karlien is a lawyer, she helps at the legal end of the adoption process. About four years ago, after Randy went on a missions trip to South Africa, the Clark family decided to move there. They homeschool their 5 children as well as encourage the men and women of the Church.  While our team wa...

Modesty is the Best Policy

Dressing modestly in a world that views beauty as an external quality can be difficult! The "cutest" clothes are often short shorts, revealing  tops, and backless dresses. Clothes are a part of our identity. They show your social status, friend groups, and what kind of life you lead.  Shopping for cute, yet modest clothing can become frustrating. Either clothes are to conservative (its ok to not to want to dress like the Duggars) or its to showy. Finding that middle ground can be difficult. But don't worry it is possible to where cute clothes that honor the Lord!  Why wear modest clothes?? Why not dress like everyone else? First off, it may be that your parents have certain standards. you may not always agree with what they say, but it's important to honor them by listening to them!! Colossians‬ ‭ 3:20 ‬ says, “Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.” ‭‭ Secondly, if we were to fl...

Holy Holy Holy

One of my favorite chapters in the bible is Isaiah 6. It talks about being in the glory of God!! For just a moment try to imagine this scene: In the middle of the temple of the Most High God, sits the most spectacular throne, covered in gold and all kinds of jewels. The temple is full of God's Glory. Two majestic beings with two wings shielding their eyes and two covering their feet and two to fly, proclaimed the glory of God saying,  "Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory."  The earth trembled and the temple filled with smoke because of the glory of the Almighty God!! All Isaiah could say was, "Woe is me." Isaiah recognized his sin the presence of a holy God! In Colossians 1:21-22 , it says, “And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him.” Because o...
